Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship
As most of you know, a college education is an expensive investment. Though education is expensive, the alternative might prove costlier in the long term.
In my quest to find a source to pay for my college education, I stumbled upon the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. Jack Cooke was an American/Canadian millionaire. He owned franchises in the NFL, NHL and NBA. He was also heavily invested in several media entities. When Cooke died in 1997, his estate was valued at $825 million, the bulk of which was used to establish the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation.
The foundation’s mission is to “help young people of exceptional promise reach their full potential through education.”
Of note, the foundation does not discriminate based on nationality. The requirement is that you be currently enrolled in a US accredited tertiary institution. Scholarships are offered to both undergrad and graduate students. Grad students are eligible to receive up to $50,000 per year for four years.
